Pet Store Tycoon Beginner Guide: Your First Shop Day
Start Pet Store Tycoon with settled fish, stocked shelves and completed checkout. Follow the first shop day through to its profit summary.
Start Pet Store Tycoon by settling your fish, feeding them, stocking a shelf and opening the shop. Your first goal is a completed shop day: customers buy something, you finish their checkout, and the daily results show what the store earned.
The walkthrough below shows that first opening and the work that follows. Use it to recognize the fish tank, merchandise deliveries and register before trying to expand the store.
Settle the first fish
Begin with the fish tank highlighted by the tutorial. Open its buying interaction, buy the fish pack and open it. Use Keep on the revealed pets so you have fish to place in the enclosure. Then feed them through the enclosure's care interaction.
Treat this as preparation for opening, rather than a race to buy more animals. You are learning where your pets live and how to care for them. Once the fish are settled and fed, move on to the shelf task. Buying another pack before finishing these prompts adds inventory without teaching you how the shop handles a sale.
Turn a delivery into shelf stock
Order the merchandise the tutorial asks for and place it on the shelf. A delivery and a stocked display are different stages: having a box does not mean a customer can buy its contents from the shelf yet. Finish the stocking interaction before leaving the display.
Retail fish food is merchandise for shoppers. Feeding your enclosure is a separate care action. Learning both interactions early helps you avoid returning to the shelf when the tutorial actually wants you to take care of the fish.
Keep this first purchase focused. The useful result is a display with goods ready to sell, alongside the settled pets. Decorating and adding a larger selection can wait until you have finished the opening day.
Open and complete checkout
On a keyboard, F opens the shop during the tutorial. Customers can then enter and buy pets or shelf products. Stay ready to use the register when a shopper reaches checkout; getting goods onto the display is only part of completing the day's sales.
Work through the transaction shown for each customer instead of carrying an amount over from the previous shopper. Once a checkout finishes, turn to the next waiting customer. If you leave to do another task, return to the register before the queue becomes your main problem.
| Task | Useful result |
|---|---|
| Keep the pack's pets | Fish are available for the enclosure |
| Feed the fish | The first care task is completed |
| Stock the shelf | Merchandise is displayed for customers |
| Open the shop | Customers can enter and shop |
| Finish checkout | The customer transaction is completed |
Finish the day before planning the next one
The opening day leads to a daily summary and progression screen. Use that stopping point to understand the whole sequence you just completed: prepare pets and merchandise, open, handle shoppers, then review the day's profit. You do not need a particular profit amount to understand this first loop.
For the next session, keep the tutorial's actions familiar before adding more tasks. If you want a broader explanation of daily progression, continue with how shop days work. For help deciding which recurring problem to handle first, use the workflow tips.
